Its cancellation was announced via social media by promoter PromoWest Productions July 25.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, PromoWest Productions is regretfully announcing the cancellation of the 2016 Buckle Up Country Music Festival set to take place in Blue Ash, Ohio August 5 & 6,” the company announced.
Brad Paisley, Chase Rice and Randy Houser were to headline the fest, which also featured artists including Maddie & Tae, Tyler Farr, Maggie Rose and Brooke Eden. Scott Stienecker, PromoWest president and CEO, told National Public Radio’s WCPO-FM that an overcrowded festival market was a cause for the cancellation.
“There was so much country competition going after that country dollar with all the Riverbend shows, all the amphitheater shows in Indianapolis, all the different festivals (in the region),” Stienecker said. Tickets are being refunded at point of purchase.
