Garth Brooks fans will have to put their song requests on hold because the country star announced he’s postponed his July 7 Facebook concert with wife
Trisha Yearwood “out of an abundance of caution” after the Garth/Trish camp was possibly exposed to COVID-19.
Brooks & Co. have postponed the Facebook video series “Inside Studio G” for two weeks.
Fans had been encouraged to tweet requests for Brooks’ second livestream concert using the hashtag #GarthRequestLive2.
“While Garth and Trisha are fine, the Garth/Trisha camp has possibly been exposed to the Covid-19 virus. To be smart about this, they are all quarantining for 2 weeks and thank everyone for their concern,” the singers’ representatives said in a statement.
Brooks recently got in on the drive-in concert revival by broadcasting a special concert to 300 drive-in theatres across North America June 27. Tickets were sold for $100 per car. Encore Live was the production company behind the event.
In the pre-pandemic world, the most recent Brooks report submitted to Pollstar‘s Boxoffice was a June 8, 2019, show at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver that sold 80,938 tickets and grossed more than $6.7 million.
