Elite 100: Miranda Lambert Leads New Entries, Bob Dylan Climbs

The usual suspects round out the Top 10 of the Elite 100 Artists chart for the week ending Nov. 6, but Miranda Lambert leads the pack of newcomers and has the most album sales after the Nov. 1 release of Wildcard.

Post Malone is No. 1 once again, reinforcing his position as the default leader new releases are competing with. He led the chart in on-demand streams (138.1 million) and song sales (45,100), despite the fact that he doesn’t have any new music out.

Lambert’s 31,200 album sales were the most on the chart for the week, and those propelled her to the No. 13 position for the week, with 46,800 total album units.

Miranda Lambert has established herself as a force within country music, as she is seeing sustained success with her solo albums and her group projects Pistol Annies – her longtime collaboration with Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe – and The Highwomen – a supergroup with Amanda Shires, Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile and Natalie Hemby.

She was recently named as a headliner at Tortuga Music Festival April 17-19, and she continues her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour with Pistol Annies, Maren Morris, Tenille Townes, Elle King, and Ashley McBryde Nov. 21.

Another new artist on the chart this week is Rod Wave, who logged an impressive 36 million on-demand streams after the Nov. 1 release of Ghetto Gospel.

Wave has been prolific for years, and already released a separate full project, PTSD, earlier in 2019. He may not be a household name yet, but he has been racking up the streams for years, as “Heart Break Hotel” on his Hunger Games Vol. 1 mixtape from early 2017 has more than 3 million plays on Soundcloud.

He performed at Rolling Loud Music Festival in Miami Gardens, Fla., earlier this year and played a headline show at Club Skye in Tampa Sept. 20.

Bob Dylan is back on the chart this week after the release of Travelin’ Thru, 1967-1969: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 15. The project includes several of Dylan’s takes with Johnny Cash, and is the latest in an extensive series of official Bob Dylan bootlegs.

The Bard logged 24,600 total albums for the week, and his best metric was album sales (18,300).

Dylan is currently on tour, and his next stop is Corapolis, Pa., Nov. 12 He begins an extended residency at Beacon Theatre in New York Nov. 23.

Finally, My Chemical Romance is back on the chart after announcing Oct. 31 it would be reuniting for a performance at Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles Dec. 20. MCR also has several dates planned in Australia, two of which are with Download Festival and a Download stop in Tokyo.

My Chemical Romance doesn’t have any new music out, but the excitement of the reunion no doubt inspired many of the 18 million on-demand streams for the week.

Next week’s chart will include data from Luke Combs, French Montana, Dave East, Clams Casino, Jacquees, Taylor Hawkins, Kele, Bishop Nehru, Yungeen Ace, Reese LaFlare, and Girl Ray.

Also, be ready for new releases this week from Lady Antebellum, Celine Dion, DJ Shadow, Lil Peep (Posthumous), Juliana Hatfield, and Bonnie.
