Demi Lovato and crew perform for “Good Morning America” at Central Park’s Summerstage in NYC Aug. 18.
The tour was scheduled to move through Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil, but
multiple Spanish-language ticketing websites have posted the following, roughly translated statement: “Unfortunately, Demi Lovato has canceled the dates of her ‘Tell Me You Love Me’ tour in South America, to focus on her recovery. The 6-city tour was scheduled to visit Chile, Argentina and Brazil starting Nov. 14. The Argentina and Brazil shows featured Becky G as special guest.
“Live Nation and Lotus Production wish Demi Lovato the best now and in the future and hope to see her soon in South America.”
It didn’t seem to be possible to purchase tickets to the Mexico shows at press time.
Refunds will be available at point of purchase.
More recently, Demi canceled her performance at the
Atlantic City Beach concert series and the RBCxMusic benefit concert for Kids Help Phone in Toronto.
Many media outlets
reported that Demi’s hospitalization was due to drug overdose, but a representative made the following statement available: “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
While Demi does not speak Spanish, she has always nurtured a fan base in Latin America, featuring on a single with “Despacito” hitmaker
Luis Fonsi.
