Ryan Prouty / Rose Quarter – Cher
Moda Center, Portland, Ore.
While the top remains relatively unchanged, the release of the film “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” has introduced a few new entries on the
Elite 100 Artists chart for the week ending July 26.
The film came out July 20 in the U.S., and the cast for that film was logged as selling 20,400 album sales, good enough to get No. 18 for the week. The all-star cast includes Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Andy Garcia, Meryl Streep and the Queen of Comebacks herself,
Cher.
Her next show is one of six at
Theater At MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Md., Aug. 4. Her last run of six shows at that venue Feb. 17-25 grossed $1.8 million and moved a reported 11,502 tickets. The Vegas residency is also a big moneymaker for Cher, as she has been averaging well over $1 million per three-show run.
In addition to “Here We Go Again,” the cast of the original “Mamma Mia The Movie” made the Elite 100 chart at No. 64.
The top remains unchanged:
Drake is still No. 1, followed by XXXTentacion whose music continues to see a wave of support after his tragic death.
Post Malone‘s star is continuing to rise, as his album dropped in April and he seems to have a firm grip on the No. 3 spot on the chart, with 62.7 million on demand streams being his strongest metric.
Pollstar recently
got the chance to chat with Post Malone’s agent, Cheryl Paglierani of UTA, who said the artist is poised to aim for even bigger stages in his upcoming touring. “We have plans to build out arena tours in Europe, North America and Australia in 2019. Our last European headline run was in 700- to 1,000-cap rooms and to see a jump from that straight into arenas is astounding.”
Juice WRLD continues his improbably run near the top of the chart, mostly thanks to his 45.9 million streams and 23,100 song sales. Last week, Minnesota promoter Zack Chazin posted on Facebook about organizing what Juice WRLD said was his “first REAL concert.”
Another new entry on the chart this week is
The Internet, which released its latest album Hive Mind July 20. There was a healthy mix of metrics for the group, with 4,400 album sales, 3,500 song sales, and 7.1 million on demand streams.
