Company founder Top Dawg announced via Instagram “I’ve got some bad news. I have to take SZA off for a few days on the tour. Her vocal chords are swollen and she have to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage. We been monitoring her close and this is the reason she missed the Arizona and New Mexico dates,” according to Pitchfork.
Top Dawg also said they would figure out a way to make it up to ticketholders for her missed shows.
Sza added “If I don’t pause now I’ll be forced to pause permanently. I’m genuinely sorry for every face, voice, and energy field I won’t be touching!”
The “TDE: The Championship Tour,” featuring Sza, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Lance Skiiiwalker, Schoolboy Q, and SiR, played a sold-out house at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., May 9, selling 12,325 tickets for a reported gross of 1,403,906, according to Pollstar.
