– Gary Richards
LiveStyle’s
All My Friends festival, curated by Gary Richards, has shared its full lineup after the initial announcement of its headliners.
The “Big Six” are
RL Grime,
Gucci Mane, and
Jhene Aiko Aug. 18 and
M.I.A.,
Jamie XX, and
Armand Van Helden Aug. 19. Beyond them, the festival is leaning into hip-hop, R&B and electronic music, with artists including
Wax Motif,
Claptone,
Yo Gotti,
Smokepurpp,
Cut Chemist,
Jason Bentley,
Ravyn Lenae,
Abra,
Soul Clap, and many more.
Tickets are on sale now, though the current tier of pricing ends June 1.
The event takes place Aug. 19-20, with three stages at
ROW DTLA, a revitalized historic setting in downtown Los Angeles that has shopping and creative spaces.
The event is billing itself as the only major music event happening within city limits, after the
cancellation of FYF Festival, which was to feature Janet Jackson and Florence + The Machine.
Of course, the lineup wouldn’t be complete without
Destructo, the performing name of LiveStyle North America president Gary Richards, who
hit the road for a “Let’s Be Friends” tour this year.
Richards said in a previous interview he is happy at LiveStyle, where his new All My Friends festival is one of many events he is responsible for.
“We’ve got so many divisions,” Richards told Pollstar. “I mean, we do thousands of shows. I’ve never really been in a position where I come in on Monday and I get a brief of all these events that took place over the weekend and what happening. It’s just good to be in a position where I’m in the middle of more action. Whereas before I had my one little festival – I mean it wasn’t so little but I had one event to work on for the whole year. And I think I’m being utilized a bit better.”
Prior to his time with LiveStyle, Richards established the HARD Events brand and developed the Holy Ship! cruise.
