Phil Collins performs at Auditorio Citibanamex in Monterrey, Mexico, March 6.
Making up for his 12-year absence from touring in North America, the former Genesis frontman announces a month-long run. Stops for the “Phil Collins Not Dead Yet, Live!’ tour include the opener in Fort Lauderdale as well as Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, Chicago and Las Vegas before closing in Los Angeles.
Today’s announcement proudly states that the escapade is “for 15 shows only.” Joining Collins will be guitarist Daryl Stuermer, keyboardist Brad Cole, Bassist Leland Sklar, and percussionist Luis Conte with Conte’s 16-year-old son Nicolas on drums. The band also includes a horn section and backup singers.
The tour is being hailed by Collins’ crew as “a fitting sequel” to the musician’s recently released memoir, “Not Dead Yet.”
While Collins’ tour is being hailed as his first North America road trip in 12 years, the artist went south of the border for a few shows that included The Pretenders. The fans welcomed Collins by scooping tickets almost as fast as vendors could sell then. The March 23 show at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, moved 15,108 tickets and grossed $1,620,614.
As the tour’s official credit card, Citi will hold a presale via Verified Fan. Registration is going on now through midnight May 9 with the presale launching May 11 at 10 a.m. and running through 5 p.m. May 13.
But wait! There’s more! Fans can register now through May 11 at 12 p.m. to unlock tickets for the Verified Fan on-sale that begins 10 a.m. May 14 and goes through 11:50 p.m. that same day.
Collins’ announcement says “if tickets remain, general sales begin Tuesday, May 15 at 10 a.m.” All times local.
