The Fillmore, Detroit, Mich.
Featuring full sets from each band, the “Revolution 3” tour featuring Stone Temple Pilots, The Cult and Bush launches in Nashville in mid-July.
The multiple-headliner tour will mix it up each night. That means that STP might close one night only to occupy the middle slot during the next evening’s performance on the Live Nation-produced outing.
“It is with great honor and pleasure to know we will be spending our summer vacation on the road with the gents from The Cult and Bush,” Stone Temple Pilots’ Dean DeLeo said. “Two great bands and more so, great friends. Also, to be there with you is even better. With love. See y’all soon.”
Adam Bielawski – Bush
Bush is in sync at Rock On The Range at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, May 19.
Stone Temple Pilots’ new singer is former Dry Cell frontman Jeff Gutt. STP split with original vocalist Scott Weiland in Feb. 2013. Weiland died while on tour with his solo band in December 2013. Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington fronted the band after Weiland’s departure, but that wads never considered a permanent position. Bennington said he was leaving STP in 2015 to focus on Linkin Park. But the rocker died in his Los Angeles home in July 2017, his death ruled a suicide. Gutt joined STP in late 2017.
It probably goes without saying that anything can happen on a tour featuring these three road warrior bands. The last STP show reported to Pollstar was a March gig at The Pub Station Ballroom in Billings, Mont., where the band sold out the1,000-capacity room and grossed $34,000.
Bush’s 2017 headlining run across North America included a sold-out show at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo where the band moved 1,700 tickets and grossed $56,124.
The Cult’s last North America outing was also in 2017. The band’s Atlantic City performance at Concert Venue Theatre sold 804 tickets and grossed just over $40,000.
The “Revolution 3” tour begins July 18 at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium and concludes at Phoenix’s Ak-Chin Pavilion Sept. 2. Destinations for the mostly amphitheatre outing include Toronto, Albuquerque, San Bernardino and Boston.
Presales begin this week and general onsales launch April 6. You can keep an eye on this tour via Pollstar’s pages for Stone Temple Pilots, The Cult, and Bush.
