Eric Clapton Sets Final North America Dates In 2018

Eric Clapton announces his very short list of final North America dates for the year – two nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden Arena. Gary Clark, Jr. and Jimmie Vaughan will appear as special guests.

Oct. 6 & 7 are the evenings Clapton and his band – Nathan East (bass), Sonny Emory (drums), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Paul Carrack (organ/keyboards), Sharon White (vocals), Sharlotte Gibson (vocals) – will grace the MSG stage.

The announcement from Live Nation states that the two newly announced Madison Square Garden concerts are “the only two remaining North American shows this year.”

Clapton’s only other upcoming North American  gig in 2018 is the Greenwich Town Party in Greenwich, Conn., where he tops a lineup that includes Tedeschi Trucks Band, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Trout Steak Revival and Charlie Scopoletti & The Truth.

Clapton last played The Garden in September 2017.  As with almost all Clapton shows in the mighty Pollstar Boxoffice database, the Sept. 7-8 concerts were sell-out affairs, and moved more than 24,700 tickets for a total gross reaching almost $5.7 million.

Chase, which has been working with Clapton since his 2013 Crossroads Guitar Festival, will hold a presale for its cardmembers, beginning March 15 at 10 a.m. and running until March 16 at 9:59 a.m.
