Jason Squires – Lady Antebellum
Sprint Center, Kansas City, Mo.
Launching in Toronto, the “Summer Plays On Tour” starring Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker, will play mostly amphitheatres across the land. Markets include Cleveland, San Diego, Phoenix, Chicago and Tampa.
Also appearing on the tour will be special guest Russell Dickerson.
The country trio and the former Hootie & The Blowfish frontman are hardly strangers. Rucker, along with Thompson Square, appeared on Lady A’s 2012 tour, which moved more than 760,000 tickets and achieved a $32.6 million total gross.
Co-headline rules and regs require quotes from both sides of the star equation. First up is Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley.
“For us as a band, being out on the road together is where it all comes to life” Kelley said in a statement. “Darius is one of our closest friends, and so we just feel really exited to get to share this tour and those memories on and off stage with him. There’s no doubt that it’s going to be a total blast and we’re thrilled to have Russell out with us too this summer – we’re already brainstorming ways to shake things up and make each night all about just being in the moment.”
“Reuniting this summer and heading back out on the road with my friends Lady Antebellum feels like a home away from home,” Rucker said. “It’s going to be an incredible summer, and I can’t wait to see y’all out there.”
Citi has snagged official credit card bragging rights to the tour and will hold a presale via its Private Pass program. The first public onsales for select dates will happen via Live Nation’s Country Megaticket going on sale Jan. 26.
