Gwar, the self-appointed supreme overlords of the universe, is heading Down Under to wreak havoc in continuation of its tour supporting its latest album.
The record, Blood of Gods, dropped in October on Metal Blade Records.
The “bloodbath” begins April 24 with a show at Eatons Hill in Brisbane. The group will play at the Metro in Sydney April 26 and at the 170 Russell in Melbourne April 27, before the outing concludes with a set at the HQ in Adelaide.
“People of Australia, koala bears, kangaroos, crocodiles, wallabies… lend me your ears… and your skulls, and all of your internal organs,” Gwar lead vocalist Blothar the Berserker said in a statement. “Gwar is coming to turn the land of dreams into your worst nightmare. Fire up the barby, we are going to eat Australia.”
Pre-sale tickets will be available Dec. 21, followed by the general sale Dec. 22.
Gwar finished the North American leg of its tour in November. The last stop on that routing took place at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Okla., and grossed $14,904, according to Pollstar’s box office reports.
