Williams, Waters Heat Up Aussie Summer

The Australian and New Zealand summer season heats up further with the addition of four major international artists.

Robbie Williams’ The Heavy Entertainment Show World Tour arrives for Chugg Entertainment and Café Royal.

The initial schedule has him play seven arenas Feb. 14 to March 7. His last two visits entered the list of biggest-selling tours in Australia.

Live Nation has Roger Waters back for the Us + Them Tour on his first visit since The Wall Live shows set new sales records in 2012.

Waters kicks off with shows in Auckland (Jan. 24) and Dunedin (Jan. 30) before five Australian shows (Feb. 2-20). Onsale is Sept. 8.

Frontier Touring has eight dates for James Blunt’s The Afterlove Tour March 6-20. After two stadium dates in Auckland and Christchurch, the Australian run includes theatre dates in Sydney and Melbourne with Warner Music Nashville-signed Morgan Evans, and four A Day On The Green winery shows in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia with Australian singer-songwriters Pete Murray, Busby Marou, Alex Lloyd and Karise Eden.

Live Nation and Nik Tischler have Jack Johnson playing under the stars with four major outdoor shows Dec. 1-8 including the Sydney Opera House forecourt, Brisbane’s Riverstage, Perth’s Kings Park and Botanic Gardens (with Mellen Events), and Melbourne’s Myer Music Bowl.

Frontier Touring’s aim to make Ed Sheeran’s run to become the biggest seller of all time in Australia moved closer after the West Australian government green-lighted 15,000 extra tickets for his second show at Perth Stadium on March 2, bringing the total on that night to 50,000.

It was initially capped at 35,000 due to apprehension over public transport’s inability to cope with Friday night commute.

TEG Dainty rescheduled Lionel Richie and Chugg Entertainment’s six date All The Hits Tour to March 25 to April 8. The original dates in October were delayed due to an international tour schedule clash.
