Ceelo Green, Ledisi, and Sam Moore have been added to the lineup of artists honoring the Queen of Soul at New York’s Carnegie Hall next month.
A Michael Dorf production, “The Music Of Aretha Franklin,” is set for March 6 at the famed concert venue named after industrialist / philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Artists previously announced on the lineup include Melissa Etheridge, Kenny Loggins, Todd Rundgren, Sarah Dash, Glen Hansard, Rhiannon Giddens, Taj Mahal, Living Colour, Allen Stone, and Bettye LaVette. Antibalas serves as the house band.
The show will be Dorf’s 14th annual tribute concert at Carnegie Hall. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit music education programs for underprivileged kids. Previous artists honored by Dorf’s past tribute shows include Paul Simon, Bill Withers, Bruce Springsteen, David Byrne, Bob Dylan and Prince
