Berlin is hosting its own edition of Lollapalooza for the third time this year, and it has enlisted acts such as Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, The xx, Hardwell, and Two Door Cinema Club.
Lollapalooza Berlin will take place for the first time at a racecourse about 30 minutes out of Berlin, Rennbahn Hoppegarten, Sept. 9-10. Last year the event was held at Treptower Park, and the inaugural edition was held at Templehof Airport.
Last year’s edition reportedly saw 70,000 file into the park to see Kings Of Leon, Major Lazer, and Radiohead.
“It was a big, colorful, peaceful, enchanting festival. It was worth all of the energy we invested together with our great team over the past 12 months,” organizer Fruzina Szép told Pollstar. Considerable effort was put into relations with the local community and setting up the massive event.
This year seems to be right on track, including not only international headliners, but also homegrown artists like Beatsteaks, Marteria, Annenmaykantereit, Cro and more.
For those with families you can bring little ones to Kidzapalooza to keep them occupied. There will also be a Lolla Fun Fair with artistry and installations and a “Green Neighborhood” focusing on environmental issues.
The Lollapalooza brand is present in 3 continents, with shindigs planned this year in the U.S., France, Argentina, Chile, and, of course, Germany.
