Pierce The Veil is headed on a journey far, far away. The band has unveiled the routing for its first North American headline run of 2017 – the “Rest In Space Tour” – featuring support from Falling In Reverse and Crown The Empire.
Last year Pollstar chatted with Pierce The Veil bassist Jaime Preciado about the band’s latest album, Misadventures, which was released in May as the follow-up to 2012’s Collide with the Sky.
“In general every time we make a record we go into it kind of thinking about what we did on the last record – the things we liked, the things we maybe didn’t like or [that] didn’t work. And we try to just kind of expand on that,” Preciado said. “I think with every record it’s kind of like a little stamp in time or a time capsule of where we were as a band and as musicians and songwriters. So for this record we went in kind of with that mindset of we can actually do some of the things we wanted to do on the last record but didn’t have the opportunity. … We took a lot of chances and did a couple things that were kind of outside the box for us. We had a lot of fun doing that and that showed on the record.”
A review from Alternative Press declares, “Pierce the Veil somehow sound as especially lavish and theatrical as Muse or Queen, but also punk as f*ck.”
Fans of Piece Veil can show their support by voting for the band in the iHeart Radio Music Awards. The group is nominated for Best Underground Alternative Band. Voting is open now and runs through Feb. 25.
