The Australia/New Zealand excursion marks Springsteen’s first tour of 2017. He last played the land of ’roos in 2014.
Australian rock band Jet is helping make the tour extra special by reforming to join Springsteen as his special guest in Melbourne, Woodend, and Pokolbin, as well as the New Zealand gigs in Christchurch and Auckland. An announcement from Frontier Touring notes that since splitting in 2012 the group “turned down numerous requests to reform … until now!”
Diesel will appear in Hanging Rock and Pokolbin. Marlon Williams & The Yarra Benders appears on the New Zealand dates.
It’s no wonder additional dates were added to the tour. After all, Springsteen & The E Street Band’s 2014 Aussie tour sold out and the 2016 global trek earned the No. 1 spot on Pollstar’s MidYear report for the Top 100 Worldwide Tours.
