Capital Cities Hops Between Americas

Capital Cities is hitting both North and South America in the remainder of 2016 as it prepares for the release of a new single.

The group has announced a two-leg tour in South and North America. The North American tour dates are mostly in November, with the exception of a performances at  2016 in Zapopan, Mexico, Oct. 22. The rest of gigs are in the U.S., starting at  in Washington, D.C., Nov. 1. The last stop on the routing is currently Nov. 23 in Los Angeles at .

The South American leg starts Sept. 30 in Bogota, Colombia, and continues through two weeks on the continent, wrapping up Oct. 15 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at .

The electro-pop act stormed onto the popular music landscape in 2013, mostly on the back of its single “Safe and Sound.” That song, and most of the other music the group is known for, came off its debut album In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery.

Since Capital Cities’ initial rise, the band has opened for Katy Perry, been a regular in major festival lineups and made national TV appearances. The group arrived on the same wave that propelled bands like Passion Pit to prominence. Check out the music video for “I Sold My Bed, But Not My Stereo” below.

The group hasn’t released much new music since its debut album, but it is promising a new song titled “Vowels” on Sept. 30.  The group’s next performance is also in the U.S., at  Festival in Del Mar, Calif., Sept. 17.
