Festival chief John Giddings hosted a world record attempt for the most people wearing the same masks at the same time, and a tribute to Hendrix’s last performance in the UK.
The masks cost £1 each and the money raised went to WellChild, a charity that helps seriously ill children and their families.
“It has been an incredible weekend,” Giddings told Pollstar. “Having Fleetwood Mac close the festival was a dream come true, and we saw some fantastic performances over the weekend – Blur, The Prodigy, The Black Keys, Paolo Nutini to name a few.
“The atmosphere all weekend was great, everyone was having a good time, I am very happy indeed.”
The other acts playing IOW June 11-14 included Pharrell Williams, James Bay, You Me At Six, First Aid Kit, and Counting Crows.
