Ringo Starr’s All-Stars Keep On Rockin’

Ringo has a lot on his plate these days.  His new book of photographs arrives Sept. 21. Appropriately titled “Photograph,” the moniker may seem like it’s stating the obvious but longtime fans will remember that the book carries the same title as Ringo’s 1973 No. 1 single.  “Photograph” includes never-before-seen photos and mementos along with childhood memories and photos of his Beatles comrades as seen by an insider.  The book also includes an original manuscript written by Ringo in which he describes his first car, drum-kits, girls and other memories of his “road of happy drumming.”

“Photograph” was originally published as a 2,500-copy, limited edition that sold out within two weeks.  Royalties from this year’s “open edition” version will be donated to the Lotus Foundation.

“I love pictures put together, showing different times of your life,” Ringo said.  “At the time, I never thought that there would be a whole book of my photographs.”

Ringo’s new album – Postcards From Paradise – drops March 31 via Universal Music Enterprises and will be the his first album that includes a song written by and recorded by the drummer and his current All-Starr Band – Steve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Gregg Rolie, Richard Page, Warren Ham and Gregg Bissonette.

The album also includes guest appearances by former All-Starrs, such as Joe Walsh, Dave Stewart, Richard Marx and Peter Frampton.  Benmont Tench, Ann Marie Simpson, Amy Keys, Nathan East and Glen Ballard are also on the disc.

You can also add another Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction to Ringo’s long list of accomplishments.  Already in the Rock Hall as a member of the Beatles, Ringo’s April 18 induction will honor his solo career.
