The vocalist announced the Canadian duo’s demise with a few lines posted on her personal Facebook and Twitter pages.

“I am leaving Crystal Castles,” Glass wrote. “My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others. For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.”

Bernhoft is taking a break from the road this fall. The Norwegian singer/multi-instrumentalist canceled his North American tour this week, explaining the decision with the following statement on Facebook:

“I am truly sorry, but for personal reasons I have had to cancel my tour of North America this October and November. I would so much want it another way, but as it stands I have to call it off. Again, so so sorry about this. Yours, jarle.”

Bernhoft was supposed to play Austin City Limits this weekend. U.S. and Canadian dates were booked through early November.
