The day before Placebo’s seventh studio album, Loud Like Love, drops Sept. 17 on Universal Music Enterprises (UMe), the band will offer its fans a live stream. Working with YouTube and Google, Placebo’s 90 minute “Loud Like Love TV” will stream from YouTube’s London studios Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time and will feature exclusive content from the band.
With Placebo proclaiming itself to be the first band to “produce, curate and stream a global live TV show,” the stream will include interviews with members Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Steve Forrest along with the people who worked with them on the new album. The show will also feature a performance of Loud Like Love, behind-the-scenes footage, live link ups to the YouTube Creator Space studios in Los Angeles and Tokyo and, of course, special guests. The stream comes to you via the group’s official YouTube channel.
Plus you. That’s right, you’ll have a hand in the stream as well with the band interacting with fans via various social media networks.
Placebo has also cut a two-part video series discussing the album. Just click here to watch. The band’s first official video for the track “Too Many Friends” was directed by Saman Kesh and narrated by novelist/screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis.
But back to those U.S. shows. Placebo will play New York City’s Terminal 5 Oct. 15 and Los Angeles’ The Wiltern Oct. 19. General onsales for both shows begin Sept. 6. Visit PlaceboWorld.co.uk for more information.
