Scorpion Under The Weather
The promoter in France presenting Germany’s Scorpions tonight in Lille at Zenith Arena and tomorrow night in Reims at Parc des Expos says the shows have been postponed. Apparently lead singer Klaus Meine isn’t feeling too well.
An announcement from Gerard Drouot Productions states the shows will be rescheduled and that the new dates will be announced shortly. Stay tuned.
Up In Smoke
Madonna, who recently was the target of criticism for making thinly-veiled comments about the drug Ecstasy while making a surprise appearance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, reportedly feels Lourdes should “concentrate on university” rather than join her mom on tour, according to London’s Mail Online.
Madonna, who isn’t exactly like a virgin when it comes to cigarettes, appeared at Ultra during Avicii’s set and asked the multitudes, “How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?”
The remark earned Madonna more bad press than good with many reports citing her for mentioning Ecstasy’s popular street name “Molly.” One of the most notable critics was electronic artist Deadmau5 who said that the singer was trying to appear “hip and trendy.” Madonna later said she was referring to a song titled “Have You Seen Molly” that was written by her friend Cedric Gervais.
Madonna launches her world tour with two shows in Tel Aviv at Ramat Gan Stadium May 29 & 31.
‘Jackasses’ To Host Rockapalooza
The fifth annual Rockapalooza in Jackson, Mich., has signed pro-skateboarders Bam Margera and Brandon Novak of MTV’s “Jackass” to host the festival.
Presented by Monster Energy Drink and scheduled for June 23 at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, this year’s Rockapalooza will include performances by headliner Puddle Of Mudd along with Saliva, Rehab, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Emphatic on the main stage while the second stage rocks out with Wayne Static, Woe Is Me, Riven, Rotation, Sore Eyes and Ghosts of August.
“Rockapalooza is going to be the show of the summer,” Margera said. “If you want to see me slap the shit out of Novak, come to Rockapalooza! Jackson, Mich., has no idea what is coming for them.”
Blue Collar Bounty Hunters
Blue Collar Comedy Tour stars Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry The Cable Guy have signed on to “Bounty Hunters,” an animated series scheduled to appear on CMT in 2013.
You can probably make a pretty good guess about how this show will roll. According to the official announcement, Foxworthy, Engvall and Larry will play the show’s title characters who will spend each episode chasing bail-jumpers. Comedian Lisa Lampanelli will play the bondwoman who hands out their weekly assignments.
