The Academy Is … announced over the weekend that the band was splitting up. During the band’s nearly nine years together the group released three albums including its most recent, 2008’s Fast Times At Barrington High.
Before breaking up, the Chicago-based indie rock band was scheduled to hit the road with Jack’s Mannequin Oct. 24 through Nov. 12.
The U.S. and Canadian dates will now feature support from three acts. Lenka will open Oct. 24-29, Allen Stone will take over Oct. 30 through Nov. 5, and Scars On 45 will provide support Nov. 7-12.
