The second annual event is being held Aug. 19-20 at The Pines Theater at Look Park in Northampton, Mass.
Friday night will feature country performances from Rhett Akins, Tesla’s Frank Hannon and Alexa Carter. Saturday will rock thanks to Tesla, Corey Taylor (of Slipknot and Stone Sour), Lo-Pro and Otan Vargas. Lewis will perform both nights.
It Takes A Community Foundation was founded by Lewis and his wife Vanessa to help revive rural communities throughout the greater New England area by raising funds to support community groups that are working to engage their communities, sustain public services and provide assistance to communities in crisis.
Lewis was inspired to start the non-profit charity after his local school district closed three of the five elementary schools in the area because of budget cuts. The singer/songwriter/guitarist used proceeds from last year’s benefit concert along with money he personally earned from touring to open the private R.H. Conwell Education Center. It Takes A Community Foundation has contributed to the center by funding desks, books, school supplies and the teachers’ salaries.
All proceeds from the “It Takes A Community” benefit show will go directly to the foundation. Single-day tickets will be available beginning June 24, ranging in price from $45-$78. VIP meet and greet packages are also available through http://www.dysfunctionalstaind.com/
