After delivering a Friday night Coachella set that L.A. Weekly called “electrifying” and likened to being blasted with sound and light “like a radiologist zaps your bones,” Deadmau5 is gearing up to kick off a two-month headlining run May 29 at the Sasquatch! Festival in Quincy, Wash.
Shows on the run will be a mixture of full-blown productions featuring Deadmau5’s brand new LED-activated mau5head and “unhooked” shows that will be absent the high-end production but will more than likely make up for it by being “longer and more diverse.”
From the hot-spots of New York City to this season’s “it” club brimming with Europe’s glitterati to some of the continent’s most massive music festivals, house music producer and party god Roger Sanchez is a man much in demand around the globe.
Next week, however, the “S-Man” will kick off a rare North American DJ tour, beginning May 13 at Lima in Washington, D.C.
Mixed in among Sanchez’s solo appearances are a few evenings keyed to his record label, Stealth, where he’ll be joined by Lex da Funk, the most recent artist to join his stable.
Other projects on the world renowned mixologist’s plate include a new single with K’Naan, “2Gether,” and the July 6 drop of his annual compilation, Release Yourself, which serves as a barometer for the way the house music wind is blowing every summer.
Already a household name in clubs and at better parties all across Europe and The U.K., Booka Shade (pronounced Book-uh Shaw-day like the enigmatic U.K. singer Sade) now have their sights set on the U.S.
The duo will hit a handful of Stateside clubs in support of their new album, More!, beginning May 25 at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Music Hall of Williamsburg.
The first single from More!, “Bad Love,” is currently burning up dance floors from pole to pole courtesy of killer remixes by Cassius, Groove Armada, Kaiserdisco, Tim Green, Azari & III and Joe & Will Ask.
