Mayer Under The Stars

It’s going to be a great summer for John Mayer fans as the guitarist/singer/songwriter/celeb brings his “Battle Studies World Tour” back to North America playing all the amphitheatres you’ve come to know and love.

Mayer is definitely piling up the the frequent-flier miles this year. He kicked off the year with an arena tour that wraps April 10 before heading to the South Pacific for gigs in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and the Philippines. Come late May he hits before launching a U.K. jaunt followed by an appearance at Holland’s and was well as a few Euro headline dates.

Mayer is also appearing at Eric Clapton’s “Crossroads Guitar Festival” in Bridgeview, Ill., June 26.

The new North American leg begins in Charlotte, N.C., at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre July 16. The next night is Raleigh at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion @Walnut Creek July 17 and hits the Virginia Beach Amphitheatre July 18.

Other stops include Scranton, Pa., at Toyota Pavilion @Montage Mountain July 24; Cincinnati at Riverbend Music Center July 27; Mansfield, Mass., at Comcast Center Aug. 6 and Hartford at the Comcast Theatre Aug. 7. The almost infinitely long list of cities also includes Toronto (Aug. 10), Phoenix (Aug. 18), Los Angeles (Aug. 22), Irvine, Calif. (Aug. 24) and Dallas (Sept. 4) before concluding in West Palm Beach at the Cruzan Amphitheatre Sept. 11.

Special guests are Train (July 16-17 & July 18-Aug. 11), The Avett Brothers (July 31 & Aug. 13-15) and Owl City (Aug. 15-Sept. 11).
