The Alarm will appear with The English Beat for the Rockin’ The Colonies tour.

The tour begins July 10, the day after the album is released, at 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., and winds down on August 9 at Festival By The River in Arlington, Washington. The Fixx also appear on the tour, playing all dates except August 1 at San Francisco’s Fillmore.

Additional dates include Ntelos Wireless Pavilion in Portsmouth, Va. (July 12), Fillmore New York At Irving Plaza in New York (July 13), Harrah’s St. Louis in Maryland Heights, Mo., (July 17) and The Crossroads in Kansas City, Mo. (July 19). There’s also Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson, Nev. (July 25), House Of Blues in Anaheim, Calif., (July 27) and The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Calif., (July 31).

Tactics is the first release by the band that won’t be sold as an import. It will contain a DVD that includes videos for all 15 tracks on the album.

Just before the band’s 2006 release, Under Attack, Peters was daignosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Peters didn’t let a heavy schedule of chemotherapy stop him, as he still played every show booked in the U.K. and two tours of the U.S. between monthly chemo sessions.

Peters’ cancer has been declared in remission and he has formed his own cancer charity, called Love Hope Strength Foundation. In October, the foundation and members of Squeeze, The Fixx and The Stray Cats climbed part of Mt. Everest and broke the record for the world’s highest concert on land by playing 45 minutes of music at 18,500 feet to benefit cancer research.

The Alarm, which was founded in 1981 by Peters, has racked up 17 Top 50 U.K. singles and more than 5 million sales worldwide.
