The outing will have a bit of a twang to it, as the band goes out with Minneapolis-based country-rock mainstays the Jayhawks from the tour opener September 12 in New Orleans through October 2 in South Bend, Ind. Shelby Lynne will handle support duties beginning October 5 at Champaign, Ill., through the 21st in Las Vegas.

The tour is in support of matchbox twenty’s latest release, mad season with matchbox twenty, and is expected to run well into 2001.

The Jayhawks have been on the road headlining a series of mini-tours behind Smile, their latest release, and Lynne has been winning much acclaim with her newest, I Am Shelby Lynne.
